On Saturday we took a little jaunt out to Alcala de Henares, which is the birthplace of Miguel de Cervantes, author of Don Quixote.

To be honest, we didn't go for the culture :) We went for the best chicken in the world! When we lived in Barcelona, we went to one of these places all the time. They serve the best rotisserie chicken EVER. I'm not joking, and so far, nobody we have taken there has ever disagreed with us. We even had our fare-well church lunch there when we left Barcelona. We had gotten to know the owner lady fairly well, and asked her if they had any restaurants in Madrid. She told us they did in Alcala, and we have been meaning to go out there FOREVER.
After lunch we sat in the main plaza (see photo at top) and ate ice cream. It was a yummy day!
