Random Vote of Confidence

Still looking for an apartment. We're going to see one on Tuesday that sounds promising, but who knows. We're going to go with deposit money and bank statements (to prove our income) in hand just in case. Pray that we'll have wisdom and clarity to be decisive but not hasty.

Last night we were hanging out in the kitchen with people when our doorbell rang. It was our nice neighbor on the other side. He said that he heard Demetrio was selling the house and wanted to know if we wanted to rent their house since they were moving farther out of the city. HUH? Go figure! It was weird, but it was nice to know that despite all the times they have heard us yelling at the dog through the wall they were willing to rent us their house!

Top 10 List of Things I Will Not Miss About This House

The not-so-nice carpet in the bedrooms and family room

The outlets that are falling out of the wall

Cleaning so much house, especially the eleventy-billion stairs where the dust collects

brown tile in the downstairs bathroom
(the WHOLE room is this color, floor & walls)

the ugly cement planter on the front steps

the nasty smelling tree in front of the house
(it may look pretty but it smells like the equivalent of fried ants, or according to Kelly, purple)

the kitchen door latch that has fallen off so many times it's hopeless
(it makes it really easy for the dog to get in the garbage)

peeling paint part 1: the wall in the basement

peeling paint part 2: the kitchen ceiling

peeling paint part 3: on the wall (in quite a few places)

and the #1 thing I will not miss about our house is
Mr. & Mrs. Crabby Neighbor who live next door

If you want to pray

After comments from our last newsletter, we did another prayer calendar so people know specifically how to pray for us. If you would like to pray with us, you can find it here.

Bah Humbug....I mean, "YAY!" and some pics too

I feel very grumpy about the whole apartment thing, so I'll just say we have not heard anything about whether the man will let us rent his apartment without a six-month bank guarantee. It's a long weekend here, and we are busy working on a new web design for Oasis Madrid so it's been good for me to being something creative that takes my mind off stuff.

On a happier note, I have not yet posted about something that thrills my little pea-pickin' heart. Kelly and April Crull are moving back to Madrid, and Kelly will be joining our team again. I cannot begin to describe how right and comfortable that feels. It's also really validating of our leadership that they are willing to sign up for a second round with us. They may be crazy or stupid or something like that, but I'm happy either way.

Not only that, there will be THREE of them! I'm really happy about getting to play auntie/grandma. I'm at the stage where I still like babies, as long as I can use my knack of putting them to sleep and then giving them back to their parents when a) my arm is about to fall off, b)they need changing c) they are turning purple while holding their breath between screams.

Here is a random gathering of photos from our Easter retreat that make me smile.

There are more but I'm too impatient to deal with blogger and photos any more today.
