I have been using The Message for my devotions and really enjoying the fresh look at the Scriptures. I read this early this morning, sitting in a pool of warm Quito sunshine.

Psalm 19:10-14

God's Word is better than a diamond, better than a diamond set between emeralds.
You'll like it better than strawberries in spring, better than red, ripe strawberries.
There's more: God's Word warns us of danger and directs us to hidden treasure.
Otherwise how will we find out way? Or know when we play the fool?
Clean the slate, God, so we can start the day fresh!
Keep me from stupid sins, from thinking I can take over your work;

Then I can start this day sun-washed, scrubbed clean of the grime of sin.
These are the words in my mouth; these are what I chew on and pray.
Accept them when I place them on the morning altar,
Oh God, my Altar-Rock,
God, Priest-of-My-Altar.

They say you can never go home, and I think it's true. Much as I love Ecuador and being here with my brother, it's not the same anymore. It's hard to explain. Being here reminds me how much I miss my Mom. And I miss my hubby and kids so so much.

Life is weird.

My Baby Brother and His Toys

My Dad always says, "The difference between the men and the boys is the price of their toys." Believe me, he knows what he is talking about! Here is a picture of my baby brother and me on his newest toy. Yep, it's a Harley. I'm sad that it's way too much bike for me to give it a spin. It weighs considerably more than I do. I could barely get off the thing. And I don't even get a ride because it has only one seat. Bummer!

All I need is the leather jacket...

Suits me, don't you think?

I have to say, I feel pretty bad that while I was sitting on the Harley taking pictures, my poor hubby was celebrating his birthday with a sick daughter and then being sick himself. Ouch :( I am DEFINITELY going to have to make it up to him when I get home!

Hang in there baby, I'll be home soon.

Oh yeah, I gotta go help with the baby :) which is what I am REALLY here for!

Happy Birthday Reverend T.

Today my hubby turned 36, which makes me happy because he can't bug me too much about my age (until my birthday in November.) Since I'm not at home I don't have any other photos of him, but frankly, this one pretty much sums it up!

Happy Birthday Troy! You are an amazing man, and I am so proud of you. I can't wait to see what God is going to do in your life this coming year. I love you.

Welcome to 36!

Introducing Emiliano

Well, I'm here in Ecuador enjoying my adorable nephew, Emiliano Scott Grant Domestici. He was born on Tuesday, September 27 at 12:35 p.m. He weighed 6 lbs. 8 ozs. and was 49.5 cm long. Emiliano and Ana Lia came home from the hospital on Thursday and they are doing well and glad to be home.

Emiliano looks just like his Daddy did when he was born. Pretty darn gorgeous. And like his Daddy, he was a C-Section baby so he has a great unsquished head :)
